Tomas Roubicek, Charles University, Prague ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Modelling of rate-independent martensitic transformation processes in shape-memory alloys. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A short abstract: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Models of rate-independent martensitic phase transformation in shape-memory alloys based on continuum-mechanical description of the stored energy in such alloys will be presented. A multi-well character of the stored energy gives rise to a microstructure described either conventionally or, with a certain approximation, by special gradient Young measures. A rate-independent phenomenological dissipation is then considered to model a hysteretic response. Isothermal simulations with NiMnGa or CuAlNi single crystals exhibiting respectively cubic-to-tetragonal or cubit-to-orthorombic phase transformation will be presented, too.
